The purpose of this study was to investigate actual conditions and to explore its problems of management in teaching middle school gymnastics. The participants were one hundred sixty-eight middle school athletics teachers.
The results were as follows :
First, The program for a year of the gymnastics were planed 9.6 hours on the average, but actual teaching management performed only 3.5 hours on the average. therefore showed many difference of hours between the plan and actual teaching management.
Second, In teaching management with items of the gymnastics, it showed to be consisted floor exercise-oriented instruction.
Third, subdivisive learning contents to each items of the gymnastics showed to be instructed repeatly without to classificate the grade. systemic instruction about each grade learning contents and learning contents with instructional difficulty never were performed.
To improve this kind of problems, it must be reinforced training programs for preliminary teachers to learn the practical skills and teaching skills about the gymnastics more thoroughly through enough training in the teacher organs of education, also be established periodically teacher's study and training programs in relations to gymnastics instruction for the incumbent teachers, be gone ahead with the credit system of study and training, be consisted of a curriculum conference meeting. be accomplished by positive supporting with the finances of education authority for the poor gymnastics equipments in the first-line schools. therefore will be improved teaching technics of teachers, be managed also lesson of the gymnastics normally. Results were discussed relative to previous studies and recommendations were made for the improvement of gymnastics instruction.
