It seems self-evident that the close relationship between the history education and archives is in nature. However, in Koera, the history education in class, no matter how in high or middle school, in university, have not adopted archival accomplishment in their area yet.
To promote the sound relationship between two areas, I suggested two examples of that relationship, the one Hongkong PRO’s(Public Records Office) Education Kit and the other Australia NAA’s(National Archives of Australia) Education Kit.
In the course of examination, we find several conditions and factors to facilitate the communication. Most important and decisive condition to use archives in education is archival arrangement and description. Arrangement means the physical control of archives and description is the logical control in paper. they are the basis of the history education. And these works belong to Archivists. On the other hand, to develop the methodology of education using archives, there needs co-operation of teachers and archivists.
This relationship between two areas will contribute to the democracy of korean society because the access to records and archives result in the transparency and accountability of government.
