본고는 金鎭世 讀解 『玩月會盟宴』 全12卷을 저본으로 삼아 주요여성 등장인물을 통해 內外法, 妻妾觀, 胎夢ㆍ胎敎, 豫知ㆍ占卜, 呪術ㆍ禱天祝地, 歲時風俗 등을 중심으로 여성민속을 고찰한다. 『완월회맹연』 은 조선조의 대표적인 장편 가문소설로 유교사상을 基底로 한다. 程府, 張府, 蘇府, 李府 등 귀족가문을 축으로 수많은 善惡의 인물이 등장하며 家中事를 주요내용으로 한다. (1) 내외법:男女七歲不同席, 男妹之禮, 叔姪之禮가 행해진다. (2) 처첩관:一夫一妻制가 엄격하며(賜婚 제외) 첩을 맞는 것은 煩事라고 여긴다. 妻가 유가적 婦德을 갖추지 못했을 때 妻宮의 불운함을 한탄한다. (3) 태몽ㆍ태교:주요 등장인물은 神夢을 얻어 태어나며 産室에 瑞氣가 어리는 등 신비로운 출생배경을 지닌다. 인물의 됨됨이는 반드시 태교에 기인한다. (4) 예지ㆍ점복:화부인, 이자염, 정월염, 장성완, 한난소, 주성염, 이혜순, 홍씨 등은 예지력이 뛰어나며 그 중 화부인이 으뜸이다. 占卜은 占星, 易占, 觀相, 夢占, 推占 등으로 나뉜다. 월염, 성염이 점성하고 자염, 성염, 이혜순이 『주역』을 풀어 길흉을 점친다. 관상으로 양부인의 壽福多男하지 못함과 성염, 성완, 혜순의 貴相이 묘사된다. 점복에서 몽점이 가장 많이 다루어지며 주로 先親이 꿈에 나타나 다가올 재액을 예언하고 실제로 선약ㆍ금창약 등으로써 救命한다. 추점은 스스로 행하거나 혹은 무복ㆍ노승ㆍ도사에게 의뢰한다. 점복에 가장 능통한 대표적인 인물은 성염이다. (5) 주술:주로 처첩간의 갈등으로 상대를 저주한다. 한편 시가와 친정 양가부모의 治病, 자손의 壽福 등을 위해 사찰과 道觀, 巫卜을 찾아 禱天祝地한다. (6) 세시풍속:신정, 상원, 한식, 단오, 칠석, 추석, 중양절, 납일 등이 보인다. 특히 정월의 행사가 가장 풍성하며 유희로 作詩, 博奕, 投壺, 船遊 등을 즐긴다.
The purpose of this paper is to survey the women folk studies regarding etiquette-rule between men and women, concepts of wives and concubines, dreams and disciplines for pregnancy, foresight, fortune-telling, sorcery, praying for help from the gods of heaven and earth, and folk customs through main female characters based on Kim Jinsae's translation of Wan-wol-hoe-maeng-yon (12 volumes). Wan-wol-hoe-maeng-yon, one of the typical family novels in Chosun Dynasty, is based upon Confucianism. It is concerned about family matters of the royal family of Chung(程), Chang(張), Soh(蘇), and Lee(李) whose focus were on their good and bad personalities. (1) Etiquette-rule between men and women:over seven years old boys and girls should not sit together. The special ceremony should be held for brothers and sisters and uncles and cousins extended families. (2) Concepts of wives and concubines:Men having love affairs with women after marriage were considered unreasonable and complex. except under the permission of the emperor. However, those men whose wives did not fulfill their womanly virtues would lament their unfortunate destiny. (3) Dreams and disciplines for pregnancy:The main characters were born with the mothers' prophetic dream and to be shown an auspicious sign in the delivery room. It was believed that the discipline for pregnancy would make the baby an outstanding child. (4) Foresight and fortune-telling:Mrs. Wha, Jayeom Lee, Yeolyeom Jeong, SeungwanJang, Nanso Han, Seungyeom Ju, Haesoon Lee, and Mrs. Hong were excellent for foresight. Among them, Mrs. Wha showed the most ability. Divination-practice is divided into fortune-telling by stars, by the book of Changes, by the facial features, by dreams, and by guesses. Yeolyeom and Seungyeom were good for fortune-telling by stars, Jayeom, Seungyeom, and Haesoon showed their excellence in fortune-telling by the Book of Changes. It was described that Mrs. Yang would not give birth to many sons, get enough financial earnings, and longevity by the facial features. Seungyeom, Seungwan, and Haesoon showed the nobility by the facial features. Mostly, they could predict the bad luck by learning from their ancesters' messages in their dreams. According to the fortune-telling by dreams they could prepare to evade bad luck and use the panacea and special medicine for the bruises from swords and knives. A female shaman, old priest, and taoist conduct the fortune-telling by guesses. Seungyeom showed an excellent talent in divination. (5) Sorcery:Mainly wives and concubines curse each other because of conflicts over their husbands. On the other hand, they visit the temples and taoist monasteries to pray for their own parents and parents-in-laws recovery from their physical ailments and their children's longevity and good luck. Also, they visit a shaman to get help to pray for them to the gods of heaven and earth. (6) Annual customs:New year's day by lunar calendar, the 15th of January by lunar calendar, the winter solstice(寒食), Dano(端午), Chilsuk(七夕), Harvest Festival(秋夕), Jungyangjeol(重陽節), and Napil(臘日). The festivals held in January were the most meaningful and affluent among the festivals. Writing poems, playing chess, the game of pitching arrows into a pot, and boating were included for merry making.
