This study analyzed the process of usage classification of general residential areas this time, and identified problems. Further, it presents the matters to be improved for operation of reasonable classification focusing on planning standards and improvement of related system. This study judged that 2 aspects should be improved to solve problems, and presented improvement directions as shown below. First of all, it presents classification plan standard and improvement directions for site features per type. First, it is necessary to have detailed standards for site characteristics per type that reflect the regional features, surrounding conditions, growth potential and connectivity with upper plan for standards of site characteristics per type. Second, it is required to differentiate and apply plan standards per region by considering that land usage features and surrounding conditions differ per life areas of region in the same city. Next, this study presented improvement plans for related systems. First, it is required to introduce multi-stage classification. In addition, it was suggested to introduce conditional classification, which is to determine classification into 2nd or 3rd type when it reflects the restriction conditions in the plan.
