Korea which is in the satisfaction in basic physical civilization to some how, now has to take an interest in spiritual one. The problems in traditional culture of a spatial planning are raising our head in our country. This paper attempts to investigate the significance of Korean traditional space through the study about Cheongpoong region and to build a general counterplan to solve the problems related in cultural heritage usually in medium and small cities through the study about Cheongju city. This study is showing the course to progress the problems, present condition of them and special solution of those problems in Cheongju city. Under the assumption that the cultural heritages will be able to present their actual value when they are in harmony with economics, practical function, etc., the conclusion is made to indicate that regional identity should be recovered by an activation of regional culture with the other factors including in the region.
