A representative public transport mode, bus transit has various merits in the fields of urban public transportation. By appropriate operation of bus transit, we can solve lots of urban transportation problems. Having used the data of the Person Trip Surveys which were caried out on Taegu city in 1988, 1992, this study has analyzed the individual characteristics of bus users. The characteristics have been analyzed the individual characteristics of bus users. The characteristics have been analyzed by sex-aged or occupational ranks that can represent individual attributes. This study has also examined the changes of characteristics between in 1988 and in 1992 to each item. Finally, this study has proposed the bus use trip generation rates to each individual attribute, and has investigated the stability of them.
The results of this study are expected to be basic data to the demand forecasting for bus transit, and are also expected to serve extimating the demand forecasting for shifted users to newly introducing mass transit like subway.
