This paper aims to apply the forestry town concept and development process as the new frontier of urban development in the future.
The forestry town development is an alternative approach to resolve the complexed problems of over-populated metropolitan regions and depopulated rural areas.
The new paradigm of "Environmentally Sound and Sustainable Development" is very important issues in the urban planning and regional development of today.
In this contexts, it is intend to device the method of rationalizing the urban and rural settlement system. The significance of forestry town approach is to accomplish the green development concept and ecological planning process in urban planning field.
According to the results of this study, the image, concept and classification of forestry town are theoretically suggested as the new town development policy.
