The purpose of this study is to research the housing type and form of the Oroquen tribes, one of northern races in China, so as to find the mutual relationship of Korean housing culture. As for the procedure, this study referred to the archives and carried out a fieldwork at the same time. The examples were investigated at the site as well as through research materials and the deficient point of the study were referred to chinese and japanese reports and archives.
As a result of this study, the housing form of Oroquen tribes is analogous to a form of primitive dwellings generally found in korea. Especially Xianrenzhu(仙人柱) is similar to the storehouse used as an accessory building in korean traditional houses, and Aolun(奧倫) also has relations with the form of Chaoju(巢居, dwell in trees) that is referred to antient literature. Lastly, the structure of Kang(?, heatable brick bed), set up in Zhengfang(正房) and uplift house, is a simple form when compared with korean one. Finally, Huoqiang(火墻) has a remarkable difference in the Oroquen's history, that is closely concerned the result of lifestyle's change.
