In the present, commercial buildings in Seoul were changed by Global brand and other economical factor. On this account, buildings in the outer block lose their own characters. This phenomenon limits building's surface, image of block furthermore image of city.
This study is about the main street of Myung-dong, and it propose the possibility of new interface of Myung-dong's characteristic commercial buildings by analyzing the main street of Myung-dong and applying features of commercial buildings of Myung-dong. Boundary of time is from the Myung-dong street consist of middle, high price and middle sized shops tarketing from twenty to thirty when before the IMF period, to low, middle price and small shops targeting teenagers when after the IMF period. A subject of investigation of area are an entrance of Myung-dong, which is the point of Myung-dong's commercial right, and from Utozone to a mainroad which is connected the member for subway line.
To carry out this study, the field survey for the buildings of the main streets in Myung-dong area was done. They were analyzed as their built age, scale, function, story and their image.
