This dissertation researched the nostalgia poems of Rob, Cheoun-Myeong. many researchers thought that she often depicted the happy hometown. but I do not think like that. more often than not, she depicted it differently than others thought.
I investigated the encyclopedical meaning of nostalgia between a korean language dictionary and an english. and subsequently the popular meaning of it in the 1920~30s’ through the poems contributed to the popular daily paper. as a result, I found the contributors thought ’poem=nostalgia’.
In 1920~30s’, many people in Korea moved from rural community to city. then the popular permeation of nostalgia in citizen is natural. Roh was one of them. I examed her poetry from this point of view. we discover that hometown landscape she depicted was an disguised one. in it, she put the contradictory inclination between communality and isolationism. consequently, existing perspective vision about her poetry is not accurate as much as thought. not like a male, she can not be addicted to communal vision. this was a tragic condition which she came across in 1930s’.
