The purpose of this article is to develop the new religious instruction model for the Korean Christian high school. In the conflict between the state and the Christian school concerning about religious education, the researcher tries to find an alternative religious instruction model on the basis of recognizing that it is important to follow not only the principle of the separation of state and church, but also the foundational spirit of the Christian school. First of all, the researcher analyses the current major three religious instruction models, namely, faith education-oriented model, education about religion-oriented model, and creative dialectical model. In addition, as one of the creative dialectical model, the researcher suggests an alternative model called by "spirituality-oriented model," which is based on the new concept of spirituality, that is, spirituality of wholeness, critical reflection, and hospitality. In the concrete, spirituality-oriented model would be more classified as followed: 1) wholeness-oriented religious instruction model by which we could know the relationship between God, human, and world interrelated, 2) enlightenment-oriented religious instruction model in terms of critical reflection on the past, the present and the future of the religious traditions, and 3) hospitality-oriented model in which teachers and students welcome each other as a stranger or a guest and through which they could experience the transcendence or the moreness beyond themselves.
