The purpose of this dissertation is to find out the meaningful relationship between the human experience and religious education by relating christian tradition with today`s human experience. That is, the main theme of this dissertation is to relate traditions with persons ordinary life. so that I emphasized religious dimensions whithin human experience, emphasized Gods presence in every facet of human life, and pointed out significant connection between everyday life and religious education. Through this process. to make a full discussion of the scientific identity of religious education is the main task of this writing. Through this study. I intend to present the prospect of religious education which will enable people to enjoy true learning for himself by restructuring and transforming their own daily experience of life as they overcome the estrangement which comes from their ordinary experience by drawing out the religious meaning of their present experience. In chapter two, I made a critical assessment on some terms to discuss the scientific identity of religious education. The terms are `Christian Education`, `Christian Religious Education`, and `Religious Education` . Among these. I chose the term `Religious Education` as the most appropriate and comprehensive one. In chapter three. I proposed the definition of `Religious Education: "Religious Education is the life-span process which encourages people to find out the Meaning and God in their ordinary experience as growing through a variety of communities. and then, I explained the definition in detail. Finally, chapter four concluded that the starting point of this study was to draw out the religious aspect of human experience. and the final point was to found a theoretical basis to make an ultimate meaning of life in God within the ordinary life. When we intend to establish the scientific identity of religious education, it starts at overcoming the practise of customs for maintaining churches. Our task is to help the people live religiously, who want to find the meaning of ordinary life in a variety of communities and come to see God as they restructure and appropriate the christian tradition. Through this process, the possibility of scientific identity of religious education can be found.
