This study takes aim at observing the representative aspect of modern Korean poetry. The consciousness of Korean language comes into view through the three aesthetic category.
Firstly, Park yong-chul, Kim young-rang, Chung ji-yong, so called ‘Si-mun-hak- pa’, strengthen the consciousness of Korean language for the completion of Korean language and the pure aethetic value. They use pure Korean language, dialect, archaic word and the rhythmical language.
Secondly, Cho ji-hun, Seo jung-ju, Park jae-sam represent the conscious of Korean language through the classical imagination. They elaborate the Korean language by the cultural classicism, the legendary imagination and the modern succession of tradition respectively. Mainly the archaism which they use notably is connected with historicism and traditionalism.
Thirdly, Kim euk, So wol, Man hae represent the consciousness of Korean language through the female complex. They elaborate Korean language by the female rhyme and the style of polite expression. They develop the female language for the expression of delicate female emotion.
