One of big problem of current Sijo-form education is that form is regraded as a small portion in sijo education. In elementary education system, the purpose of sijo education is that sijo is writings of suggestion and for recitation. Following that, sijo form is educated very briefly. Because recitation is not character of sijo only, it became writings that contain suggestions among recitation poem. It is not easy work that students understands sijo on the viewpoint of learner’s. It is same situation in middle school education course. Even though they study Sijo, it is very difficult for them to understand characters of Sijo. In high school course, misunderstanding of Sijo became more serious because they use wrong textbook, for Sijo education.
Here, we report several important points for good Sijo-education. First, Sijo-education should be distinguished from education of poem. In addition, the start point of Sijo-study can be moved from late stage of elementary school to early peroid. Finally, we should pay attention to the meter form in poem of Korea. It is worth while to teach Sijo is syllabic meter. For such purpose, it is needed not only understanding of basic meter system, but also good education system for learning of Korea meter. We think it is quite important to build up good education system for Sijo.
