An investigation of certain tar food colorants required a relatively inexpensive TLC adsorbent to be used in preparative thin-layer chromatography procedure.
As will be shown activated clay and Kieselguhr has excellent physical characteristics for TLC applications. is easily applied, and is good for analytical work as welt as showing good separator capabilities with selected groups of compounds.
