Xiang Zhuang's Dance transformed into the drama at Sunchon and district in the late nineteenth century. And Xiang Zhuang's Dance had been accepted into the court dance and music.
Xiang Zhuang's Dance consists of the speech play and the sword dance. The epic structure of Xiang Zhuang's Dance is based on the story of Hongmen Party of the ancient China.
Because the protagonist(Hsiang Yu) confronted with the antagonist(Liu Bang) and defeated, the plot of Xiang Zhuang's Dance is the tragic plot.
Xiang Zhuang's Dance had been accepted into the mask dance drama by the satirical mind and cultural counteraction of the people. Therefore the tragic Xiang Zhuang's Dance must be distinguished from the comic folk drama.
Xiang Zhuang's Dance is the dramatic form of the transition period. Therefore we can estimate that Xiang Zhuang's Dance was siyuated at the turning point that the court dance and music had changed to the speech drama.(Daegu University)
