The problem of Mimana means the history of relation between ancient Korean Gaya and Japan, Nihon-shogi(日本書紀) recorded that ancient Japan had been made strong effect in Korean Peninsula since the legendary empress 'Zinggu', Passing through the age under the rule of Japanese Imperialism, some Japanese scholars solidified this legend a little more, and asserted that Wa established an organization for ruling foreign countries, that is 'Mimana-Nihonfu', on the southern part of Korean Peninsula and dominated it for 200 years from 4th century to 6th century, So that, the theory of Mimana - Nihonfu was formed.
But, when see as archaeological evidences, the Japan's inheritances had not been appeared in Gaya region, and in that, the iron panoply or weapon, harness developed earlier than Japanese Islands. So, the theory was announced in Japan, after 1949, that a horse-riding people armed with an iron panoply and weapon entered to Japanese Islands from Gaya region in 4-5th century, and conquered it. But also the insistence was brought that ancient Korea Peninsula's emigrants have established small colonial states in Japanese Islands and managed them.
The two countries' scholars of Korea and Japan began to try to see the history of relation between ancient Korea and Japan a little more objectively since the 1970, So that, there came out an opinion that Mimana-Nihonfu was merely a Wa diplomat who had been entered in Gaya area, or that it was no more than the organization for trade between two countries. In fact, Mimanawas possibly not to be a Wa's organization for ruling foreign countries but to be a Gaya's office for foreign affairs, Now, the voice that claims the theory of Mimana - Nihonfu has been shrunk remarkably.
Nevertheless, to a good many history text books of Japanese secondary school. there still remains a conjecture that Wa's influence was reached to Gaya's many countries. But in that region, besides the ancient Korean three countries of Shilla, Goguryeo and Baekje, the fourth political body, that is Gaya, accomplished and lived an independent country for a long time.
