Usually, body was treated by what is limited and non-essence. About such understanding of body, religion tradition had offered some main causes. But today, there are also positive body-discourse being in fashion. But there are different two directions from one another. We, at first, can find in ecological and feministic discussion one direction. Here emphasize comprehension of affirmative awareness for body. While, in popular dimension the phenomenon that taking body as goods for body-shaping and body-practice is found as another direction. We are going to look for religious response and what can take holistic comprehension for body in this actuality.
Focuses of this thesis are as following. First, we set focuses of discourse for body in practice
process of religion. The reason is why body is connected with religion concretely at practice process. Second, we wishes to find how body acts. Third, we have focus in holist understanding for body. We could get these following results through these arguments and examinations. First, when examine religious achievement process, religion is not providing prejudice for body. Second, religion can oppose fetishism of body and provide spiritual value that recover of genuine body. Third, religion provides basis of awareness for 1:xx:ly as holistic substance of mind. Therefore, we find possibility that religion can participate to search place of body. Fourth, religion offers not as individual subject but subject of awareness for ecological, cooperative body in front of individualised reality. Fifth, religion is existence that inspires genuine life in body that exist only flesh. In this way, religions have ground which can realize his own immanent value in modem society.
