The sites of the stone-piles(돌돌림) in Old Chosun Period were excavated in the site of Songshin - dong in Yeontan and Dangmoru in Pyeongyang.
The shape of these sites are like square and the stones are piled on the line of the square.
There are some dolmens around the stone - pile in the site of Songsing-dong in Yeontan. The size of this site is about 12.2 meters from east to west and about 8.5 meters from south to north. The stones of the site of Dangmoru in Pyeongyang are piled on a mountain ridge heaped up earth. The size is about 30 meters from east to west and about 35 meters from south to north. The stone - piles of these sites might be used for the altar. At that time, people might have performed a ritual after constructing dolmens. The origin of stone - pile can be traced back to the altar that was found in the site of Hongshan culture(紅山文化) in the northeastern district of China.
