This article looks upon characteristic aspect of 1990's lyric
poetry in North Korea. This is almost classified in 4 forms.
First, life experience and 'Revolutional Purity' is accounted. A
paper of Chosun writers union central committee, <Chosun Literature> consistently insists 'Let's improve writer's political insight and creative ability for demand of development of reality' in January 1990. This article premises that literature had successfully taken a step forward to the identity of literary thoughts, and writer's level entirely had been raised during 1980s. Then, it orders writers to adhere to 'Revolutional Purity' which is heavily important task to enhance the value of our own literature to the high stage of subjective anthropology in 1990s. It is emphasized that any kind of opposition must be rejected, and North Korean style must be preserved in creation. This point of view is actually appeared in their poetry works. Imaging life experiences, especially job-site, and healthy lyricism can be appointed two axises by which this 'revolutional purity' is appeared. Next, almost all of lyric poetry in North Korea is created to be contributed to stability of 'single direction system'. Through symbol of 'Red Flag', and through political philosophy like 'Humanity politics' and 'Double width politics' which newly appeared in 90's, they make each a party and a chief to be reflected in a work.

Into the 1990s, (Chosun Literature) prints a Gasa work on the back page of cover and on the next page of copyright every month and also put two or three Gasa works on the last page or empty page of a separate volume. The general effect of printing score on the back page in South Korea tells how much it gives consequence to Gasa and it is actually being sung as well as it is for the cover design. In addition, it is not difficult to see that aimed-to-unification poetry have continually been created during 1990s. it is remarkable that the poets who is from South created most works in the past, which aspect have changed.
Last, a work have been made in 90's which shows recognition of tragedy in partition and will of reunion. This aimed-to- unification poetry shows some differences from past; (1)They don't describe with political and economic antagonism. (2)Approach to unification is connected to humanity or racial spirit, not to violence or war. (3)Desire of unification is keenly appeared. (4) Tragedy of partition is concretely imaged. It is estimated that this is obviously desirable change.
North Korean poetry is under socialism and realism. Therefore...
