This paper is to study the popularity of Korean and Japan
Sinpa-drama. This is aimed to clarify the similarity and difference between Korean Sinpa-drama and Japanese' by comparing Japanese Sinpa-drama, Kumsekyacha with Koreans, Janghnn-mongo
Japanese Sinpa-drama, Kumsekyacha is the work which was recomposed of the scenes extracted from important parts of the novel. In this work jump of the content appeared so much that the only audience who read the novel could understand it exactly. The Korean novel, ]anghanmong was the adaptation of Japanese novel, Kumsekyacha. When the writer, Cho, Il-je was adapting it, he consulted the Japanese Sinpa-drama, Kumsekyacha. Because he consulted the Sinpa-drama which had very rapid jump in the progress of content, the novel, ]anghnnmong came to have simpler plot than the original novel.
The Japanese Sinpa-drama, Kumsekyacha treated the subject, 'money and love' which appeared as an important issue in the society at that time and tried to inform of audiences that they should choose love. But in Korea which was the colony of Japan, the same subject could not achieve the social meaning and the Korean Sinpa-drama became a drama which failed to have reality. Therefore, the Korean Sinpa-drama, janghanmong was remembered to Korean audience as the drama about the man's agony who was betrayed from his lover.
