Todays companies are dealing with fast changes in the business environment triggered by the introduction of information system.
Information technology outsourcing saves them from the burden of engaging in the whole range of operations, and enables them to outsource non-core business activities and focus on their core competence. As a result, they achieve the state-of-the-art technologies as well as cost reduction. Unfortunately, however, in many of the companies, decisions about whether to do outsourcing is not being made in a systematic and scientific way. As is the case in many other strategic decisions, the process of reaching a decision about outsourcing is not systematically organized and constructed. In this study, the research was carried out to assess the extent of impact of major factors related to IT out sourcing
and their efficacy. The major factors broke down to 1) IT's strategic importance, 2) organizational characteristics, 3) human resources capability and 4) company size.
