On this thesis, I examined on the secularity of Kim Dong-ni's early short stories. I confirmed that have basically secularity of person, narratives, folk - belief, time and space. And the secularity in ms novels originated from the author's deep concerning to secularity of Korean basic culture.
Especially, sorceress, unenlightened or deformed people, old man or sick people are person that characterized on his novels. In this case, he narrated them on the point of the secularity or secularization, and also, he used the secular time and space in his fiction-making.
In conclusion, the secularity on his novels should be arranged as follows:
1. His concerning on the secularity derived basically from his literary belief; <form of ultimate concerning for life, <生'의 究竟的 形式>.
2. His secularism that realized on his novels is the same as the unchanged and unrepeated everyday life, especially, the life of the basic people.
3. The people on his novels are sorceress, leper woman and his son, isolated old man, and every deformed people.
4. The time on his novels represented as past time, time to death, and fatal or disaster time, and also, the space represented the old-stoned wall, old tree, and rotted house. 5. His ways of telling depends on his memory which from heard himself or from some one else. So called, from folk etymology or folkloristic stories.
