The present paper is concerned with the fornulation of suitable
stress-strain relations and the appropriate boundary conditions in
the theory of small deformation of thin elastic isotropic shells of
uniform thickness. The result equations, which include the effect
of transverse shear deformation, are deduced by application of
Hamiltion's principle that give us the natural boundary conditions.
Also, these derived basic equations are applied to circular
cylindrical tanks under internal liquid pressure are applied to
Membrane Theory, Bending Theory and stress analysis is carried out
by these theories. And, these results are compared with each other.
