The aim of this paper is to develope a prediction model of the traffic noise on the road. The riverside road of the Han River in Seoul was taken for a case study. Traffic characteristics, equivalent sound level (Leq) and sound level median (L 50) was from the Report of Asessment of Environmental Influence and multiple Inrluence and multiple regression technique was used. The new model is compared with existing models; mathematics model and statistical model.The test statistics was the sum of error square between perdiction and observation. Statistical model is appeared to be better when they were tested on the data which is used to develope the model. The mathematical model was more useful when the mathematics model was more useful when compared by data surveyed in the different conditions.It can be concluded that statistical model is more helpful to predict the noise level of new and/or expanded roads for future.
