Cylinder liner bore with thin material thickness had difficulty in
maintaining surface roughness quality due to geometric shape errors and
poor particle fall during processing. Therefore, in order to solve the
honing process, Experiment 1 conducted a roundness correction
experiment as a characteristic experiment on factors such as the
rotation speed, whetstone expansion power, and intensive processing of
honing head-spins. Experiment 2 conducted an experiment on the error
occurrence point variable as much as the parallel deviation generated,
and Experiment 3 conducted an experiment with whetstone expansion
and spindle rotation conversion cycle to find a method of inducing
particle fall out during honing processing. As a result of the experiment,
in the roundness correction, the roundness error was improved by the
whetstone expansion force factor of the spindle. The parallelism and
straightness experiment confirmed that it deformed above the predicted
point, and the whetstone particle dropout induction found the desired
roughness in row 3 of the spindle rotation direction conversion cycle.
