To successfully integrate children with disabilities, it is necessary to prepare an environment in which participation is possible. This requires the teacher''s professional knowledge in the field of integrated education and the ability to construct an effective curriculum, environment, and resources for developing teaching materials. Accordingly, learning activities and participation can be promoted to children with disabilities by modifying the curriculum.
The purpose of this study is to find out how to improve through the recognition of curriculum modification in the aspect of special education for infants and the need to recognize and support the importance of curriculum modification in the 2019 revision Nuri course.
First, what is the special teacher''s perception of the curriculum revision?
Second, what is the importance of the special education teachers'' awareness and support plans for the curriculum revision in the 2019 revised Nuri course?
Participants in the study conducted a randomized sampling survey of special teachers for infants working in national and public kindergartens. 238 copies of the questionnaire were selected and the results were processed. The results are as follows.
First, as a perception of the curriculum revision, the special education for infants understood most about the curriculum revision, and 89% of the practitioners showed high performance in the field. In addition, it was found that through the revision of the curriculum, it helps the growth and development of children with disabilities, increases the time for children with disabilities to participate in activities, and helps to achieve individualized educational goals.
Second, in the revised Nuri course in 2019, 97% of special teachers in early childhood were prepared as experts as a recognition of the importance of curriculum revision. Regarding importance recognition, most items were recognized as high on average out of 5 out of 4.0. In addition, human and financial support was required as support requests, the number of disabled children per class was reduced, special classes for each age group were established, cooperation system among members, support for various training and materials, and support for the improvement of the disabled.
Therefore, in order to effectively operate the curriculum revision in the 2019 revised Nuri course, it is necessary to actively apply by reflecting these various support needs.
