This study aims to identify changes in the traffic pattern of the Busan subway passengers, through O/D(Origin/Destination) data of subway passenger in Busan. The main findings are as follows.
First, Line 3 opening of the trunk line route have a large impact on changes in the traffic pattern of the Busan subway passengers. But extended section of Line 2(Hopo-Yangsan) that connects peripheral regions and Line 4 have a small impact on them.
Second, over time, the downtown traffic pattern generally appears over the Busan whole area. On the other hand, subcenter traffic pattern remarkably appears passage of nearby areas.
Third, by the opening of the new subway, the moving population increased and the average moving distance was reduced. Also, passage of many moving population appears short-range movement. Total moving population of downtown doesn''t change, but average moving distance of it is increasing. And total moving population of subcenter increases, whereas average moving distance of it was shortened.
