ABSTRACT

The Effects of Combined Training Affecting Drivers Driving Distance and Health Related Physical Fitness of Amateur Golfers

This study is aimed at knowing how driving distance and health related physical fitness affect amateur golfers(n=15) through 8-weeks combined training participation.
From this result, we carried out matching sample t-test for significant difference verification in groups and all the statistical significance level was set up by p<05. Then, we come to the following conclusion.

1. Change of Driving Distance

Driving distance of amateur golfers in exercise group through combined training participation was improved as a whole and showed statistically significant difference(p<.001). because amateur golfers didn''t exercise at all except golf, these results were shown. so I think combined training is effective training way to enhance driving distance of amateur golfers.
2. Change of Body Strength

Muscular strength, muscle endurance, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility of the body, explosive muscular strength in exercise group through combined training was improved as a whole and showed statistically significant difference (p<.05, p<.01, p<.05, p<.001, p<.001, p<.01).
In addition to driving distance of amateur golfers, combined training showed positive effects in improving health related physical fitness.
In a follow-up study, if combined training programs by a variety of subjects and long-term training plans are applied to professional golfers and promising young players as well as amateur golfers, the basis of effective exercise program and various measurements through long-term studies to improve physical strength and driving distance will be provided to golfers.
If modification and supplementation are applied as one of the golf training methods based on this study, our nation''s professional golfers as well as amateur golfers will be able to take positive effects as one of the best training methods.
