As among various social problems, suicide problem becomes an issue, social interest has been expanded. Especially, juvenile''s suicide gives a significant effect to school and local society as well as family because it becomes a serious social problem recently. As famous entertainers'' suicides are continued, there are high worries about Werther effect that imitates their suicides. Especially, there are high worries about the negative effect on juvenile, which can be expanded to extreme imitation effect and continual problem. The study subject was selected to verify how adolescent’s bullying from peer group’s affect their suicidal ideation. Social support, supporters of mother, father, friends, teachers etc. were analyzed, subtypes of social support, emotional support, informational support, material support, such as it was confirmed the impact of adolescent’s suicidal ideation. The results from the reasearch are to provide basic data to prevent adolescents from being tempted giving up themselves and to be used as a vital tool to find the way of supporting them.
Research subjects were students at E. middle school and Y. middle school ets tow located in Jeon non, Jeon buk selected through convenience samplig and a survey was carried out from November 24 to December 23, 2014 for 30 days in total using self-report questionnaire 355 copies were collected from 450 copies of questionnaire distributed at the four middle school and included in the final statistical analysis. As a method of analysis for the verification of the research qustions, descriptive statistics, Cronbach’s α, bivariate correlation analysis and hierarchical multiple regression were used, and statistical analysis program SPSS18.0 was used.
The results show that the variables such as gender, family status, teachers support, have a statistically relevant correlation with adolescent’s suicidal ideation.
It tells that the more vulnerable groups regarding to suicidal ideation are girls than boys, adolescents whose family status is normality lower than others. Less support from teachers also increases adolescent’s suicidal ideation. Rise up adolescent’s bullying from peer group’s also increases adolescent’s suicidal ideation. The survey tells that teacher’s support plays the most important role in terms of their suicidal ideation, gender, family status are followed according to the order. Another thing to note is that the lower grades they are in, rise adolescent’s bullying from peer group’s and the less teacher’s they get, the more they tend to have suicidal ideation. In addition, when they are exposed to more adolescent’s bullying from peer group’s, especially girls compared to boys, less teacher’s support, they are prone to have suicidal ideation.
