This study investigates the stable flame spread over thin solid fuel under various channel gaps, inclined angles, fuel widths, and area densities in with and without forced convection under normal gravity conditions. KimwipeⓇ dust-free paper was fixed by a sample holder and placed in an adjustable channel. Without an assistant flow, the flame spread rate increased with the inclined angle. When the angle larger than 30°, the flame spread rate increased with the decrease in channel gap. However, it reached a maximum value at a critical gap size. At the smaller gap sizes under inclined angles less than 45°, the flame tended to extinguish. With a forced flow, the flame spread rate increased with the forced flow velocity and inclined angles. Similar to the cases without a forced flow, a moderate channel gap and larger inclination resulted in a faster spreading flame. In addition, the spread rate increased with the fuel width and was inversely proportional to fuel area density. A fuel regression analysis was performed and the correlation of flame spread rate was found:
