Starting from the critical awareness that the status of Hakbong(鶴峯) Kim Seong-Il(金誠一)'s Chokseongnu poem(矗石樓詩) should be identified from the history of Chokseongnu’s Poetry(矗石樓詩史), we objectively analyzed the verses in Hakbong's poem and identified the nature of Samjangsa(三壯士) through the cultural memory aspects inherent in Jinju Castle(晉州城) to find a solution to the controversy over Samjangsa. I also wanted to find it. This is a new perspective that reveals the value of Hakbong poetry and the meaning of Samjangsa. The results discussed in the main text can be summarized as follows. First, the Hakbong poem, which is said to have been posted as a plaque at Chokseongnu in 1634, provided an opportunity to create several rhyme-borrowing poems(次韻詩) of Hakbong's poem. In fact, after 1740, it was discovered that there were 12 subjects and 16 poems. This makes us realize that in the history of Chokseongnu’s Poetry, which spans about 700 years, Hakbong's poem is not as important as the author's dispute. Second, writers who used Yeongnam Samjangsa(嶺南三壯士) as their subject among rhyme-borrowing poems of Hakbong's poem include Choi Heung-Won(崔興遠), Yeo Dong-Sik(呂東植), Lee Ga-Sun(李家淳), and Lee Jin-Sang(李震相). On the other hand, in 1747, the memorial service of Choi Gyeong-Hoe(崔慶會) was held at the order of King Yeongjo(英祖), and Choi Gyeong-Hoe appeared as the author of the Samjangsa poem in Choi Gyeong-Hoe's Haengjang(行狀), which was built in this background of the times, changing the perspective on Samjangsa. Third, the names such as Samchung(三忠), Samjang(三將), and Samjeol(三節), which were already used before the poetry of Samjangsa been posted as a plaque, converged with the terminology of Samjangsa from Honam in later generations. Fourth, Samjangsa from Honam was further engraved in the Jinju area due to the presence of Samchungbi(三忠碑). Fifth, Samjangsa, who is commemorated at the Changnyeolsa(彰烈祠) memorial service that continues from the Japanese colonial period to modern times, is generals from the Honam region. In order to establish Jinju identity, unification of various memory media must be sought. Therefore, the conclusion was drawn that the poem 「Chokseongnu iljeol(矗石樓一絶)」 should be regarded as a creation by Hakbong, but the Samjangsa, which was historically imprinted in Jinju Castle, should be viewed as the Honam Samjangsa(湖南三壯士).
