To investigate the relationship between communication willingness and self-regulated learning ability, learning motivation, and communication anxiety in live online classes, this study surveyed 276 Chinese learners of Korean in June 2023 and used SPSS and AMOS to compare and analyze the data collected. Structural equation modeling was used to estimate the effects of online self-regulated learning ability, online learning motivation, and communication anxiety on learners’ willingness to communicate in live online classes, and path analysis was used to examine the complex relationship between each independent variable and the dependent variable, based on researchᅠon live online classes and second-language communication willingness. The standardized path coefficients (β) of the paths of online self-regulated learning ability → real-time online communication willingness and online learning motivation → real-time online communication willingness were relatively high at .348 and .352, respectively, confirming the existence of significant paths that can validly explain the factors affecting learners’ willingness to communicate in real-time online classes. In addition, online self-regulated learning ability affects learners’ willingness to communicate in real time online both directly and indirectly through online learning motivation, which in turn directly influences learners’ willingness to communicate in real time online. This clearly indicates the important role that real-time online communication willingness plays in predicting and explaining Korean-language performance and the importance of online self-regulated learning ability and online learning motivation for improving communication willingness, underscoring the necessity of enhancing learners’ motivation to develop self-regulated learning abilities.
