This study began against the background of Seoul's historical context and changes in the urban environment. Seoulis a city with over 600 years of history. Tradition and modernity harmonize to form a unique cultural landscape. Due toeconomic development and urbanization, high-rise buildings have come to dominate the urban landscape through the processof deindustrialization. In particular, Euljiro has deteriorated after redevelopment in the 1970s, but still maintains an activeindustrial ecosystem. At the beginning of the study, an architectural and spatial field survey was conducted to determine thecurrent status of Euljiro. It was confirmed that the connection between generations and history was being severed due to theimpact and problems of redevelopment and urban regeneration projects. As a result of analyzing user behavior and the physicalform of Euljiro, focusing on Sewoon District 5 based on Habracken's theory, it was discovered that repetition and unity provideharmonious familiarity and order in the space. Following the study, it was confirmed that Euljiro has the unique spatialconfiguration qualities and a positive impact on the urban environment through user-centered autonomous space construction,and that this can suggest a new direction for urban design. The conclusion was drawn that research is needed to maintainand develop the city's uniqueness and identity rather than unilateral development, and that spatial symbiosis is pursued.
