With the increase in single-person households and the growth of online distribution channels, people can easily purchase refrigerated and frozen foods. In response to this food consumption trend, food manufacturing companies are competitively releasing refrigerated and frozen convenience foods that can be cooked easily. Along with the increase in food production by food manufacturing companies, companies in charge of cold chain food logistics services are also increasing their cold chain competitiveness. This study conducted an IPA analysis to understand the factors that lead cold chain food companies, which are shippers, to select 3PL companies in line with the increasing cold chain food market. The survey target was focused on workers in the cold chain food manufacturing industry. As a result, cold chain food companies, which are shippers, were found to have high satisfaction and importance in logistics service price, logistics service capability, logistics service speed, cold chain infrastructure, cold chain proficiency, partnership ability, request acceptance ability, and communication ability. On the other hand, logistics information system, cold chain organization, corporate image, and financial reliability were perceived as having relatively low satisfaction and importance. This study is meaningful in that it defines factors and derives priorities for strengthening the competitiveness of cold chain food 3PL companies.
