The world faces two major demographic transitions: population aging and urbanization. The growth of the urban elderly population creates new challenges for elderly care facilities. This study aimed to explore a practical, easy-to-socialize, and improve the quality of life of the elderly community design strategy by analyzing six typical urban senior cohousing communities in the U.S. These cases were identified from the U.S. official cohousing website by 2024. The study detailed the scale, master plans, public and living Spaces of six cases. Then, this study utilized the resident interviews published on the website of Senior Citizen CoHousing to collect and analyze the post-occupancy evaluation information. The findings inform recommendations for future urban elderly housing designs, emphasizing improved social interaction and living conditions.
