With the recent growth of the electric vehicle market and advancements in autonomous driving technology, the need for the development of electrification components has increased. As the number of electrification components applied in limited spaces increases, the issue of electromagnetic shielding between these components becomes more important. To address electromagnetic shielding, the housing cases of existing electrification components are made of aluminum alloy. However, due to the demand for improved driving range and vehicle weight reduction, research is being conducted to apply lightweight materials instead of aluminum alloy. Existing research has focused on applying conductive fillers to engineering plastic materials to satisfy both electromagnetic shielding and weight reduction requirements for electrification components. For parts applied to high-voltage junction blocks, a lightweight component was developed by applying engineering plastic injection products and conductive particle shielding coatings to the cover. Reliability verification tests were conducted, and the electromagnetic shielding performance was compared with existing products. As a result, it was confirmed that the performance was equivalent to that of existing products. Through this study, approximately 50% weight reduction was achieved by applying engineering plastic materials instead of aluminum alloy materials.
