Recently, as the paradigm of urban planning has shifted to establishing a life-friendly city, there has been a demand to expand basic living service facilities due to increased interest in improving the quality of individual life. In order to improve the basic living infrastructure, the government has pushed for various living SOC supply policy projects that allocate living SOC according to the national minimum standards. This study examined the distribution of population and residential areas around the living SOC of village unit facilities in Gwangju Metropolitan City and the old age status of living SOC, and analyzed the suitability of facility arrangement, equity in use, and safety in use of facilities according to the minimum standards of population and residential areas for accessibility by distance of living SOC. As a result of the analysis, the equity of use of living SOCs for village-level facilities within walking areas is inferior in areas with low population density, such as the outskirts of the city, and better in areas with high population density, such as urban areas, and the aging rate of facilities is higher in the downtown area. Therefore, in order to improve the differentiation of residents' use of living SOCs, low-density residential areas such as the outskirts of the city need to focus on new facility construction projects to supplement the lack of living SOCs, and the old city needs to promote regional customized living SOC projects focusing on quality improvement projects such as living SOC modernization projects.
