A Study on the Artistic Characteristics in Shen Weiʼs Integrate Yang, Wang(Chungnam National University) This study examines Shen Wei’s activities and works and analyzes his latest work, Integrate. Through this analysis, changes in Shen Wei’s artistic flow and the artistic characteristics of his works will be revealed. The research method consisted of literature review and the author’s own viewing and analysis of Shen Wei’s Shanghai performance, and attempted to discover artistic characteristics through analysis of related materials and choreographic form in Integrate. First, the theme displays the relationship between people and things, society, and self at multiple levels, reflecting the profound philosophical thinking and emotional expression of the work. Secondly, the work reflects the time and space characteristics, diversified and comprehensive characteristics and participatory integration characteristics of expression delivery. Third, the work organically combines mixed media forms to build an art space dominated by visual aesthetics, getting rid of the constraints of traditional theater and creating an atmosphere for the audience to participate freely. The work led the audience to successfully understand the concept and form of the Total Art, and played a pioneering role in allowing the audience to participate. Integrating multiple forms and media of art to provide audiences with a rich aesthetic experience is an important factor in exploring the possibilities of future art.
