20th-century expressionist music, while innovative and philosophically rich, is not without its temporal limitations. Given the centrality of 'expression' to the essence of arts, this study argues the necessity of reinterpreting expressionist mu- sic in light of contemporary sensibilities. Thus, this research aims to expand the concept of expressionist music by proposing practical applications for the present era. To achieve this goal, the study explores three categories: 'Body and Music,' 'Space and Music,' and 'Participatory Relations.' Body and Music – The dancing body perceives and understands music best. Sounds through the body, and sounds produced by the body are valuable musical materials. Space and Music - Emotional experiences in space are associated with affect. Introducing sounds from spaces experienced and remembered by the body into musical parameters. Participatory Relations - Inclusive forms of music, incorporating a sense of community and participation, are required. Practicing expressionist music that al- lows both musicians and audiences to participate. This study also proposes methods to overcome the limitations of expressionist music in these three areas. This is not an exploratory study on a school of thought, but an applied research endeavor, suggesting that such research should continue in the future.
