This paper investigates and analyzes the origins and characteristics of religious elites and political elites in order to find out the causes of the identity of Israel as Jewish State, new regionalism and internal discrimination, exclusion, and inequality issues within Jews.
First, this paper analyzes the background of the emergence of new regionalism.
Second, to uncover the Jewish situation in the historical Palestine before the State of Israel, it analyzes the origins and characteristics of twelve Sephardi chief rabbis of Jerusalem(Hakham Bashi of Jerusalem, Rishon LeZion)who worked from 1842 to 1918 as focusing on the chief rabbinate of Palestine operated by the Ottoman Empire. And it analyze three Ashkenazi chief rabbis in Jerusalem who were unofficially active from 1860 to 1912.
Third, the process of change in chief rabbis of Mandatory Palestine and Israel(1921-present), the origins and characteristics of eight Sephardi chief rabbis and eight Ashkenazi chief rabbis are analyzed.
Lastly, it analyzes the origins and characteristics of fourteen Prime Ministers, two chairs of the Provisional State Council and eleven Presidents of Israel.
