This study aims to examine how the organizational culture of local police officers working in the field influences organizational commitment. To this end, this study composed the theoretical background of the police’s organizational culture and commitment using related preceding studiesand other materials. To identify the situation, this study utilized a survey conducted on police officers in service and statistically analyzed the results. The police’s organizational culture plays an important role in operating the organization effectively with the common beliefs, values, and norms of police officers. Such organizational culture significantly influences organizational members. Hence, this study examined the influence of the police’s organizational culture on organizational commitment. The results showed that the emotional commitment composing organizational commitment was significantly influenced by the hierarchical, group, development, and rational cultures composing organizational culture. Additionally, continuous commitment was significantly influenced by hierarchical and rational cultures while normative commitment was significantly influenced only by group culture. Regarding improvement measures for the police’s organizational culture, this study suggested actualizing the activities of the police’s workplace council to deliver the voices of police officers, as well as enhancing group activities that respect individual activities, and strengthening rational culture.
