A three-year collaborative plant survey among researchers from Korean and Myanmar in the vicinity of the Panlaung-Pyadalin Cave Wildlife Sanctuary (PPCWS) in the southern Shan State of Myanmar led to the addition of four newly recorded flowering plant taxa for the country’s flora. Some of the notable species are Aeschynanthus minutifolius (Gesneriaceae), which was previously known to be distributed only in Thailand, and Trailliaedoxa gracilis (Rubiaceae), the only species in its genus, known only to occur in China narrowly. These additional findings are expected to augment our understanding of the plant diversity in Myanmar and can be instrumental in advancing botanical knowledge in general in the region.
