This article explores changes in the location of the diaspora and the possibility of a third spatialization as a result, through a comparative analysis of Marguerite Duras’s novel Summer Rain and Yoon Go-eun’s novel Night Travelers. After COVID-19, transnational networks are accelerating, and the need for a new global paradigm beyond a single country is increasing due to rapid climate change and international conflict. Accordingly, this study focused on the de-boundaryization and rearrangement of representational space that are common in the two works, and examined the possibility of a third spatialization from the perspective of hybridity mentioned by Homi Bhabha. In particular, both works were compared and analyzed by connecting the mythological character of the Bible and the tree used as the central material with the symbols of Ouroboros and the Tree of Life. Each tree combines disparate elements of life versus apocalyptic apocalypse, ruin versus creation, and creates a different metaphor within the work. This is not a dichotomous integration of opposites, but a space of translation created in the gap of fluid creation and transformation. Based on this context, we first analyzed the characters on the border in the two works, then explored space as a symbol that forms inside and outside the border, and finally examined the possibility of diaspora transition and third spatialization due to changes in location in time and space. did.
