The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of weight control through swimming exercise on oxygen radicals and heart rate in overweight women and to use it as data for a health promotion program.
The subjects of the study were 24 overweight women, divided into 12 SEG (Swimming Exercise Group) and 12 CG (Control Group), and compared and analyzed body weight and oxygen radicals between groups and before and after. The swimming exercise program was performed three times a week for 12 weeks, exercise time was 50 minutes, and exercise intensity was 50-75% HRR. Results 1. In the swimming exercise of overweight women, body weight showed a significant difference in the exercise group, a main effect was observed in the measurement period, and there appeared to be an interaction effect between period and group. 2. In the swimming exercise of overweight women, active oxygen showed a significant difference in the exercise group, a main effect was observed in the measurement period, and there appeared to be an interaction effect between period and group. 3. In the swimming exercise of overweight women, heart rate showed a significant difference in the exercise group, a main effect was observed in the measurement period, and there appeared to be an interaction effect between period and group. Therefore, swimming exercise in overweight women is effective in weight loss and also provides positive improvements in oxygen radicals and heart rate changes. Accordingly, it is believed that it is possible to provide exercise guidelines to improve health through swimming exercise for women who are overweight, and if they proceed considering the intensity and time of long-term exercise, they will live a prosperous life.
