The purpose of this study was to analyze the level of digital material use and reflection of digital practice competency in high school textbooks and investigate the possibility of cultivating digital practice competency through the home economics curriculum. For this purpose, the learning materials of the unit “Hanbok and Creative Clothing Life” from 12 kinds of high school ‘Technology and Home Economics’ textbooks were analyzed. The use of digital materials and the reflection of digital practice competency were analyzed by frequency and content. The results showed that 78.9% of the total learning materials used digital data, and each publisher used an average of 10 digital materials. The digital practice competency levels were not high and varied by publisher. The ‘problem-solving ideas’ section reflected the most competency (56%), followed by ‘information collection and management’ (36%), and ‘information analysis and expression’ (36%). However, it was found that ‘digital content creation’, ‘problem- solving implementation’, ‘information sharing’, and ‘participation in online activities and cooperation’ were not reflected in the 12 textbooks at all. Textbooks based on the 2022 revised curriculum will be used in classes from 2025, and it is expected that digital literacy will be emphasized in earnest. This study is meaningful in that it explores the applicability of digital literacy education to high school home economics curriculum.
