The purpose of this study is to classify cases of UAM(Urban Air Mobility) vertiports into newly constructed and expanded types, and analyze planning trends.Corgan named the newly constructed vertiports as "Greenfield" types and proposed the construction of these types on the upper levels of roads. They also named the expanded vertiports as "Retrofit" types and presented vertiport plans utilizing parking towers. By paying close attention to these plans, it is possible to identify the strengths and weaknesses of Greenfield and Retrofit approaches. Furthermore, utilizing this classification to analyze overall vertiport planning cases will allow for an understanding of trends in the field. The investigation of 31 vertiport planning cases worldwide revealed three distinct trends for both Greenfield and Retrofit plans.
