The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of expected values for appearance management and consumer's need for uniqueness on cosmetics evaluation criteria and satisfaction. Questionnaires and being administered to 405 cosmetics consumer. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and regression analysis using SPSS statistical program. Expected values of appearance management were categorized into self-satisfaction, power value and conformity. Consumer's need for uniqueness were categorized into need for choice of unique and need for choice of independent. Cosmetics evaluation criteria were found to be information/economic, utility, function, symbolism. Self-satisfaction and power value for expected values for appearance management had significant effects on information /economic. Conformity for expected values for appearance management had significant effect on utility, self-satisfaction, conformity for expected values for appearance management and need for choice of independent had significant effect on symbolism. self-satisfaction for expected values for appearance management, information/economic, function for cosmetics evaluation criteria had significant effect on satisfaction after purchasing. This results concluded that expected values for appearance management and the need for uniqueness are very important variable to understand cosmetic behavior.
