The purpose of this study was conducted to analyze the effects on static and dynamic balance and suggest appropriate ice-water immersion intervention processes when cutaneous sensation was reduced by applying intervention and reprocessing through ice-water immersion. The subjects of the study were 10 healthy 20s ordinary people who had no history of dominant ankle-related injuries during their lifetime and affecting balance in the last 6 months. Subjects performed Single-leg balance(SLB) and Y-balance test(YBT) for static and dynamic balance measurements pre/post. SLB was calculated as the number of ‘FAIL’ during 5 performances, and YBT was calculated as a composite reach distance by the each directions during 3 set. After the pre-task, all subjects were immersed with 0-2°C ice water for 15 minutes above 5cm the end of the medial malleolus, thereby reducing the sensation and applying re-application for 1 min after 3 min. As a result of dependent T-TEST on the calculated data, the amount of change in cutaneous sensation was significantly decreased due to intervention, and the sensation recovered over time decreased again to the extent that there was no significant difference after re-application. There was a difference in dynamic balance before and after intervention, but there was no difference in static. Therefore, it can be seen that actions that require static balance have a relatively small effect of cutaneous sensation collected through the foot compared to dynamic. In the future, a clearer factor analysis can be possible if intervention conditions such as this study are applied to various balance tests & various kinetic・kinematic values that can affect balance are also identified.
