In the thousands of years of cultural inheritance, Chinese civilization has a classical cultural system with the five Classics as the core and foundation. It affects the progress of Chinese history and the life of Chinese people from the aspects of People’s Daily ethics, governance and ultimate concern for people. It can be said that the Five Classics are the treasures of the Chinese nation and the quintessence of Chinese culture. The Five Classics, originally six classics, are the six classics compiled by Confucius, because the music classics have long been lost, only five classics remain in later generations. These five classics refer to “The Book of Songs”, “Shangshu”, “The Book of Rites”, “The Book of Changes” and “The Spring and Autumn Annals”, which are the essence of Chinese culture. In Chinese culture, the Five Classics are not only the source of Confucian culture, but also the source of all schools of thought. And from academic, spiritual, and even politics, literature, art, economy, artifacts, technology and other aspects of the overall influence of the Chinese civilization.
Understanding the conceptual way and progress of Chinese Classics is of great significance to the inheritance of Chinese excellent traditional culture, the interpretation of the Chinese Classics and the going out of Chinese culture. “Xingzimingchu” of Guodian Confucian bamboo slips put forward the proposition that “Tao begins with emotion”, which provides an important idea for understanding the conceptual way and progress of Chinese Classics. The conceptual way and progress of Chinese Classics can be summarized as follows: The way of Classics begins with human emotion, and human emotion are rooted in the heavenly way; To achieve humanity, we should imitate the heavenly way; The heavenly way has no beginning and no end and changes at any time. Humanity should also be flexible and follow The Times. Its progress is to pursue a gentleman, adult, sage personality, to achieve a noble state, selfless without me, help growth and education.At the same time, it can be seen that the cultural education centered on the Five classics is a real humanistic religion, which has important value and significance for the construction of the current world culture.In addition, and it can enhance the exchange and cooperation between different cultures in the world.
